I don’t think it’s unfair to call this junk food. It’s a highly processed product that’s pre-cooked, requiring just a microwave and barely 60 seconds of patience. Don’t get me wrong either, I love junk food like the next hungry soul. Sometimes that hit of salt and fat and processed unreality is just what I’m craving.
So how does this product from Kroger in the freezer aisle stack up?
Not bad I’d say. I’m always ready to be completely underwhelmed and possibly grossed out by items like this, but this was decently average in its own context. This is clearly competing against fast food, not least in terms of style, nutrition and price. I grabbed this for a measly $1.99.
It’s a decent stand in for a fast food chicken sandwich. The patty stays decently juicy, and I was surprised to find it not exceedingly over salted. On the flipside this is drrrryyyyyy. Bring your own mayonnaise to the party for the best experience. Be careful with the bun too, the patty will hold up to a little extra cooking time, but the bread gets hard fast from overcooking.

Sorry to hear that Becky! I’d probably ask your local store directly, maybe they can get it back in stock if they know there’s demand? As it’s a Kroger special item, you can’t get it at any other stores sadly!
