This hefty bag of chicken strips from Tyson boasts of 100% all natural ingredients and best I can tell, doesn’t mention “with added rib meat” anywhere. These are breaded, 100% chicken tenderloin pieces; they also mercifully come in a resealable freezer bag.
Cooking: According to the package you can bake or microwave these – cooking from frozen. I reached for the air fryer which worked great, producing a slightly charred and crispy exterior.
Taste and texture: Fabulous. In a world of reformed and spongey mushy mess, when it comes to frozen chicken, the real notably chicken found here stands out. The texture is meaty and firm, with no weird “mystery meat moments”. The flavor is perfect too, just that gentle blend of garlic/onion/paprika.
Overall: In my opinion, one of the best fast food style frozen chicken options you can get in the freezer aisle. In fact, this beats many a fast food restaurant. These would work well as a stand alone protein in a dish (the packaging recommends country style gravy and mash) or as I did – the star of a great chicken sandwich with plenty of mayo. they’d work well tossed in your favorite sauce too – buffalo or BBQ.

Are Tyson Southern Style Breast Tenderloins any good?
Yes – I am huge fan of this product. The frozen strips are notably real chicken, both visually and in the tasting. They cook up quickly, have a great taste and are incredibly flexible.
