Kroger Original Pork Sausage Patties review

Lets be honest, the elephant in the room are those bright red boxes of Jimmy Dean Breakfast Sausages; we’ve probably all reached for a carton down through the years right. These breakfast patties from Kroger come about fifteen to a package – nearly double that of the JB box. Moreover these are much bigger – something like 50% bigger again.

Taste: These patties have that familiar breakfast sausage seasoning with plenty of black pepper. The taste ends with a sweetly-caramelized finish. Thankfully there’s not an overt amount of oregano/fennel/rosemary that can marr some sausage products.

Cooking: Roughly sixty seconds in a microwave is all it takes. Sure you can pan fry or air fry, but why bother with the extra mess and time?

Other: Another bonus in my book is they’re frozen too, compared the refrigerated Jimmy Dean brand. That said the package isn’t resealable once opened, you might want to move them to a different storage container.

Verdict? A solid buy for me, I’d always keep a bag of these in the freezer

  1. Have bought these for a while as they are quick and easy in the morning and taste good. They’ve been on sale for a while so I picked up a few bags but I’ve notice the last 2 bags have almost no flavor at all. Had my wife try them and she agreed. I don’t know what they changed or if this is why they are on sale but it looks like it’s time to find another option.
