Is Rosarita Enchilada Sauce any good?
Absolutely! This is currently the goto enchilada sauce in my kitchen at this time. As far as premade canned sauces go that is, home made will always be superior for a skilled cook. That said, this sauce is ultra convenient, affordable and lip smackingly tasty.
Let me preface this whole review by saying yes, if you know what you’re doing in the kitchen, there’s no doubt a home made enchilada sauce is superior. I’m judging this canned enchilada sauce from Rosarita solely on the merits of canned, premade, heat and serve sauces.
I don’t know about you, but there are myriad occasions I need to make dinner in less than thirty minutes, making a sauce from scratch just isn’t viable. And that’s why I always have a few of these cans on hand. It’s my current goto sauce in terms of mass market available sauces.
You can heat the sauce in a pan and apply to whatever dish you’re serving up, or simply pour over your enchilada or burrito and microwave up – it’s a real time saver for sure.
Taste wise there’s some gentle chile flavor and plenty of acidic bite; there’s little to no spiciness, so those with meeker palates can use this product happily.
As you might expect, the only item to consider here is sodium, you’ll want to keep an eye on that.
