There’s a very industrial aesthetic to these pastry pockets. Just look at the perfectly uniform slivers of BBQ beef in the pictures below. Ordinarily I’d have nothing against this, I love me some junk food. And that’s why I bought these in the first place. I don’t have too much of a sweet tooth, but a savory snack? I’m all in.
Sadly, there wasn’t much to love here. I’m sure they have some fans, just not me. I found the whole affair surprisingly dry. The filling was relatively meagre too, it almost seemed to dry up into the pastry. I felt like dousing the whole thing in extra BBQ sauce frankly, which isn’t a glowing recommendation.
