Are 365 Meatless Burgers any good?
Yes! These are surprisingly good burgers that have a rich and meaty flavor. They’re 100% vegan friendly, very affordable and cook up quickly in the microwave. These are currently one of our favorite meat free burgers.
I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from this veggie burger. When I spy any in store branded product, my highest hopes are for saving a little cash, but also usually, sacrificing a little quality. Not only that, amongst all the hype for certain meat free brands, I’d heard little to nothing about this Whole Foods burger. Wow, was I wrong, these now rank as one of my favorite veggie burgers on the market.
First up, this carries the Whole Foods 365 badge – that means you’ll only find them at Whole Foods; and you’ll find them in the freezer section among the other veggie burgers. This burger doesn’t try to emulate real meat ala the Beyond Burger nor is it garden burger, full of recognizable veggie pieces. This burger is in the mold of the MorningStar Farms Grillers patty looking remarkably similar in its frozen state. Part of me did wonder for a second if they weren’t merely a repackaged product from another supplier.
I stopped wondering after popping one in the microwave for 90 seconds. The instant aroma is far stronger and much more meaty than the MorningStar patty; they’re a little bigger and firmer too. Taste wise these pack an instant umami-punch. A really beefy and rich flavor, I was instantly bowled over. After working my way through the whole package over several meals, sometimes this dominant flavor was fun, other times it was a little much.
I am huge fan of the MorningStar Farms patty for its flavor and flexibility and I find it really hard to separate the two. What puts the 365 Meatless Burger slightly ahead for me it it’s 100% vegan where the MorningStar Farms is merely vegetarian.
365 Meatless Burgers cooking instructions and nutrition
Cooked from frozen, you can prepare these burgers in the pan or in the microwave. I’ve only cooked them in the microwave and they come out exceptionally juicy. Given their firm, meaty texture, I’d be happy to throw them on the BBQ for 1-2 minutes at this point if you wanted a little grill char, they should be robust enough to hold off; just don’t grill them from frozen.

365 Meatless Burgers – what’s a fair price?
I paid $3.99 for a box of four at my local Whole Foods. This was a more than fair price in my book.
